Understanding What Makes Your Body Work Better

BEACHRUNHEATH For decades, people have been trying to find the secrets behind proper fat loss, muscle gain and higher energy levels.  Fortunately, there is a way to ensure you reach these goals and it doesn’t involve a miracle pill, surgery or scouring the ends of the earth to find an ancient tribal recipe.  The answer lies in finding out two things:  1) What your body responds well to, and 2) What your body does not respond well to.  If you can determine these two things, you are way ahead of the game in terms of achieving fat loss, muscle gain and higher energy levels.

In general, we want to optimize our metabolism, so that all the chemical reactions within, are working as they should be. In other words, making certain that your body’s “operatives” are productive.   These operatives are better known as Enzymes, which require co-factors and co-enzymes such as vitamins and minerals to function (like fuel) properly, speeding up the chemical reactions needed to help you burn fat, increase muscle, speed digestion and give you energy.  In fact, some enzymes without co-factors and co-enzymes are “useless.”

Without going into the science too much, it’s important to maintain healthy enzymatic activity, preventing them from “falling apart” (denatured enzymes), as this will increase inflammation in the body and slow down the chemical reactions needed for fat loss, muscle increase, proper digestion,etc.  What Denatures Enzymes? Here are a list of some things: Boiling food, over cooking foods, drugs and alcohol, free radicals, processed foods, fluoride, exposure to radiation, GMOs (almost all corn and soy) and more.

Another important step is providing the body with enzymes and digestive support supplements, to assist us with absorption and the breakdown of essential proteins, fats and carbohydrates.  Otherwise, undigested foods form bacteria that can lead to digestive disturbances and deficiencies later on.  Testing for food intolerances is also helpful in eliminating added inflammation from intolerant foods your body has developed anti-bodies towards, causing a range of symptoms like fat gain, depression, fatigue, joint pain and more.

Finally, I would consider avoiding gluten, mainly because research has shown us  that it’s difficult for humans to properly metabolize it or break it down. Studies found that consumption of modern wheat is the first step in  causing autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.

BONUS TIPS:

  • To avoid free radicals and protect your health, stay away from harmful industrial and environmental substances (parabens, phthalates, BPA, sulfates,  dyes, etc).  You may follow these two great links:   http://www.ewg.org/  AND  http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/
  • Increase Glutathione (gloota-thigh-own) levels to promote detoxification of estrogens (including environmental), heavy metals, chemicals and more!
  • Consume a magnesium and zinc supplement  to help activate enzymes;
  • Include soluble fibre (prebiotic) in your daily nutrition, to rid your body of bad estrogens and to “switch on” an Anti-Cancer gene!
